Session 3

This has been a little harder than I thought it would be... I like to think that I am a person that can stick to a task... but ... hmmmm....

I did finally buy a book to keep my index cards in.... but now just to get the index cards, write down the scriptures and put them in it...

I've gone with a little shorter one this time... maybe I started out with too long of scriptures and it has discouraged me... like losing weight, gotta see progress before you have the gumption to stick with it.

So, here's my verse (along with finishing the other 2):
Proverbs 9:10 (New International Version)
10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Let's hear yours!

ADDITION: In my useless knowledge widget I learned this: The human heart rests between beats. In the average lifetime of 70 years, the total resting time is estimated to be about 40 years. Proof that God did in fact design us to rest... hmmmm...

Romans 8:38-39

And I am convinced that nothing can ever seperate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't and the demons can't. Our fear for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the power of hell can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to seperate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

the index card book will help...just keep trying. Eventually you will find the habit that fits your everyday task that you will be able to practice while doing something else. Whether it is like Nicky said posting it around so you can say it when you wake up and go to bed. Or saying it while you are in the car. Or while you are at work....whatever works with your schedule.

Ok, here is mine.
1 Peter 3:8-9 (NASB)

8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;
9 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for this very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4: 8-9

I'm a little late but here I am.

Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckeled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert, and always keep on praying for all the saints.
